This looks beautiful but what is it

Hello people I came across this the other day after all the rain and it really stood out to me I like it a lot but I do not know the name for it does anyone know ?

    Japanese anemone. There are lots of varieties- all quite similar
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....



    I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Only if it's very happy.  Otherwise a good garden plant and provides late flower colour+nectar for insects.

    I have mine in a big trough.  It's much happier since moving it into the shade but I was very surprised to see that it had already crept along the trough trying to escape....one really thin and long stem zigzagging in and out of the soil.  This is in 3 months!  Very naughty plant!  :smiley:

    The pink ones tend to be more invasive than the whites, but it can depend on soil and climate too. When I had pink ones in a previous garden, they were fine.

    I only grow white ones now, as I don't like pale pink. 
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
