Earthworms Taking Slug Bait?

A couple of days ago I liberally scattered slug bait in my veg patch. Now at least 90% has gone.
I have read one american article about earthworms taking the bait.
I have also read of mice taking it.
Please discuss, I can't be the only one.
P.S. Even though all would not agree, I'm off to put down some more, to protect my courgettes and young leeks

Slug pellets shouldn't be scattered liberally. If you read the istructions you only need a few.
Have you seen any dead slugs they leave a slimey mess.

If you use too many, you just attract them. 'liberally ' sounds like too many.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Please understand! The slug bait is disappearing!

Because it attracts them. Too many attracts even more of them.
A tiny amount is all that's needed - three or four round a plant.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I haven't used them in a few years but when I did I saw a rat eating them.

Tbh I've never found slugs bother with leeks and usually only with courgettes if they are overripe and down low.

I scattered some  natural slug and snail pellets around my cabbage seedlings.  They disappeared!  I caught the culprits - ants!
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

  • Finally put down some rodent poison and that went and the slugbait remained. Problem solved?
