What type of crabapple is this please

Advice please: We have what appears to be a weeping crabapple tree in our garden. I was told it was an ornamental crabapple, but I don’t know the variety and therefore if it’s safe to use the fruit to make jelly etc.  I think it may be ‘purple prince’, but the fruit seems more elongated in shape, rather than apple round.  Photos show flowers in Apr, fruit on tree Jul and as picked in Aug. When cut open has bright pinks pips (similar colour to the flowers).  Thanks in advance for any help.
