    My neigbour delivers poo to us 2 or 3 times a week. I stack it with wood chip and grass clippings and leave it until next Spring. I do appreciate that not everyone has the luxury of space as i do.

    I'm not an authority on the subject but merely wished to point out that, per measure, a bag/load from a 'posh' stable that changes bedding every day will contain less actual manure than the same one from a stable that only tops up the shavings for several days, and then clears it completely?

    Mine is mostly straight from the paddock at this time of year, so almost 100% poo

    Thanks folks - you like to get stuck into manure, don't you?  :wink:

    I've gone ahead and used most of the stinky stuff and, as advised, the smell soon improves. Mixed in with some of the original clay, some MPC and a bit of sand. Hopefully, that will provide a far better growing medium than was originally in my border.
