Black leaves on New Zealand privet help!

Hello,

I am hoping someone on this forum can help me, as I’m not 100% sure what could be causing this or what to do.  My research so far points to bad drainage or fungus.  Below are some images I took, thanks in advance for any advice.

    The leaves look like they have been scorched by the sun. This tends to happen when liquid is sprayed or poured over the leaves when the sun is up. If you do water it, make sure it gets watered directly into the base to avoid the water touching the leaves. Griselinia Littoralis shrubs are quite tough shrubs once they have settled. Best grown in the ground where they can spread.
