Cactus Help

can anyone help me what should I do with this? It was just given to me because the previous owner said it was dying.

    It looks like it's been over watered. I'm no expert on cacti but I would take the ones around the outside off and repot them into cactus compost. Start again basically. I think the rotted part needs removing or it might spread.

    * polystyrene is good to use for lifting cacti without pain from the spikes.
