JParkers Border collection

I am considering ordering Jparkers border collection as I have consistently failed germinating / growing plants with seeds and I am tired. Now I am going try Jparkers border collection. Has anyone used.  Are they any good?  Any alternatives? Does anyone happened to have promo code?

Thanks

When I first started this garden, being very big I couldn’t afford to buy plants so I bought the Parkers collections,  they come as small plugs so you will need to tease out the roots, pick of any mesh that may be on them and pot them up keeping them sheltered over winter, then plant out next spring or after any frost you may have.

Since then, I’ve split them many times so have filled the garden, I think a pack of 72 plants cost about £17.00 at the time, that was 8 years ago,  so well worth it for me, but they do need looking after first, so pot up, pot on when they’ve grown a bit, and keep sheltered until next year.

  • I started my border with one of these packs. I was very ignorant in those days and just stuck the plugs straight into the border (in spring, I think) and amazingly didn't lose any! Some of them are a bit thuggish though and have turned out to be things that I now wish I didn't have....

That's the trouble with plant bundles. You need to check the individuals out and not plant everything in desperation. Some would be better composted or given away.
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Ah yes! Another thing I learned over the years: Beware of friends bearing plants...

I've dealt with Parkers since the 1960's.  No problems.

    .
I buy from JParkers wholesale, because they are cheaper.

    Bulbs only which are excellent.

Their bare root plants, shrubs and trees are the pits, they arrive dead, who picks them to send out must be blind, my own fault, I have been caught out more than once, but never again.
Don't touch them with a barge pole

Type JParkers into Review Centre site, one star I think.

We have placed large orders with JParkers wholesale site for 4/5 years now, infact we just our autumn order yesterday. We've never had any problems with any plants except a batch of kniphoia this year all of which died 😭😭 these were refunded without any queries. We have had trees, perennials and thousands of bulbs and continue to go back to them

All my shrubs were bare roots from Parker’s, the only one I lost was a Campsis, but I think that was down to me,  it’s not suitable for my climate.
i had to dig the Kniphofia out as it spread to much, and I really don’t like the plant.
