Blossom end rot

My tomatoes are really struggling with blossom end rot (I think). It seems to affect the younger tomatoes. My big ones seem fine but I’m finding lots of little ones which have it quite bad. I’ve found some trusses where they’ve all got it. I have tried to keep them evenly moist all the time. I wonder if it’s to do with the heatwave we’ve had?

It's usually inconsistent watering that causes it. It prevents the uptake of calcium efficiently enough to the fruit - usually the ones farthest away from the water.nutrient source.
More common in pots or containers because it's harder for the watering to be consistent.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Oh ok, that might explain why the little ones at the top of the plant have been the most badly affected.

I think it's fine if you just remove them. It doesn't affect the rest of the plant  :)
I've never had it on plants, so I'm not 100% sure.
Checkout the RHS site though - you'll get good info there  :)
