Small black/brown dots on blackcurrant leaves

Can anyone tell what's wrong with my blackcurrant plant please and how to treat it? This is over a few of the leaves throughout the bush, not all of them. Some leaf edges have gone brown and curled up. Thanks :)

Some pictures of the bush and where it is situated would yield a more precise answer.

The brown edges is most likely due to drought. The spots are likely due to insect damage such as aphids sucking the sap from the underside of the leaf.

If there are young curled up tip shoots on the bush then this would indicate aphid farms being run by the ant farmers.

Also, look for scale insects on the woody parts of the bush as they feed on the sap too.

Have a look at blackcurrant blister mite on the internet and see if it is anything like that,I know it most active in May and June but it does leave brown spots also other discolouration on the leaves,my currant bushes tend to get it.
  • Thank you for the tips, here's another pic or two. Will search for the blister mite too. I can't see any signs of aphids or stem damage. I almost 100% sure it's not drought. Very well watered and in good draining soil...
