To avoid split tomatoes ...

Heavy rain after a dry period can result in the skins of outdoor tomatoes splitting.

Today I’ve picked all of mine that are nearly ripe ... they can finish indoors ... and I’ll do that every day for the next little while ... hopefully that’ll avoid the skins splitting when the promised deluge comes ...  ⛈

Not a drop of rain here all week. Lots of hot sticky nights though.

We had a mist you could breathe, nothing else
    In London. Keen but lazy.
  • Torrential rain over the last 2 days, nothing today. Just enough rain that I feel like my pots might be watered for me, whilst knowing I'll probably still have to be the strange person using a hosepipe in the rain....  :#

Same here, virtually nothing for weeks.
I've noticed my sungold from the GH are splitting some time after being picked and while sitting in a bowl in the kitchen, which is rather odd.  I think I'll try collecting them just before they are fully ripe to see if that helps.

Sungold does that no matter what you do. It's the worst variety for splitting.
