Ant colony of epic proportions has infested my potted azalea

How can I get them to move on without killing them?

Essential oils are said to repel ants - so you could try having a peppermint-scented azalea, perhaps...   :)

Soak it.  They're in there because it's dry, so dry in fact that you'll need to stand it in a deep saucer or tub to get the soil thoroughly soaked or it will just run straight thru.

Thankyou, I'll try that (with rainwater, I guess) - and possibly offer them some peppermint humbugs later on  ;);)
