Red pineapple leaves

Hello everyone.
I'm a newbie to this site and in hoping someone can advise what's wrong with my plant leaves.
A bit of history I re spotted the head of a red pineapple. The new leaves came through nicely and grew quite long. I usually keep the plant by my window. Last week I moved the plant to my kitchen as I planned to water it. I left it in there for a few hours on my return the leaves had wilted and had thinned out in the middle. I was horrified I wanted to cry my baby was limp. ( not all the leaves btw) I tried to tie them up so they re gain strength (remember I'm new to this so I dont really know if the was the right thing to do). I dont know what caused this to happen. Can someone tell me what the thinning and discolouration is. I really dont want it to die
