Here’s my Gertrude Jekyll in a 60cm pot, it’s been in there 5 years now and really needs to be repotted but I keep putting it off! I prune it hard in winter, to keep it as a shrub:
But it’s not having any of that, it wants to be a climber. By September it looks like this:

I had planned on putting it in the ground this year @Fire and letting it rip, but the suitable spot I identified had enormous boulders just under the surface. So if I get it out and can keep the pot intact (it has a big crack in it) I might root prune it and return it to the same, mended pot. Or a new one. Or a raised bed. It’s growing too vigorously now so decision put off yet again until the coming winter 😆
