Black lace turning brown and leaves falling

hi there. Can anyone help with this please? In the 2 weeks my black lace plants have had many leaves turn brown, then they wither crisp up and fall off or just fall straight off. This started before the heatwave. I cant see aphids or any borers (I think after a bit of googling!)
I have had powdery mildew in other garden plants but didnt think that had spread.
Any ideas of treatment would be greatly  received as this was a present years ago so would like to keep if possible.
Thanks
Laura

How long have you had this plant in the ground? It looks like water stress to me. They tend to take care of themselves once established, but if they are only 2-3 years old, they still need additional watering around the base in the warm weather. Around 2 buckets in the evening in this weather and easing off to three times a week when temperatures cool a bit.

Think about top dressing bark chip mulch once you have watered it well. It will help to keep the roots cool and moist for longer.
  • Hi. I've had one for about 10 years and one 8, had them in pots and last summer when we moved we planted them in the ground.
I will give them a good watering tonight then as the local thunderstorm produced no rain sadly.
    Thanks
