White Hydrangeas turning green

My Annabelle hydrangeas are in a north facing bed with a little sun in the afternoon.  They are now all green. Is there something I can do to keep them white longer?

Nope. It's what they do. Most of the whites have a hint of another colour, and they also change as they become autumnal
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Agree. Our white one starts to turn pink as the season moves towards autumn but the following year it will flower white again.

Hence another name; Changeable, which is what my Grandma always called them.
  • We have one that starts white goes green and then turns pink in early autumn

The pink tinting is common in white varieties, as it's just the dormancy colouring appearing. Some have more than others too.
