Mixing tomato food in bulk..

After feeding time last Friday, it occurred to me that the endless measuring and a filling of watering cans could perhaps be less of a chore if I mixed up a batch of tomato food in a water butt, so it was on tap. Does anyone else do this? Do you find it more convenient?

Not sure how well it keeps once diluted.

Have you tried using slow release granules instead?  Apply a generous dollop to each plant and then just water as needed.

Haven’t seen slow release tomato food granules.. will look out for those.

I did wonder about longevity, but I don’t think diluting it should affect it- it’s not like it’s being activated, just diluted? It’s a bit late in the season now to bother but I think I will try it next year as I feed so many things with it I don’t think it would hang around for long- maybe a 100L butt as I’d use that up pretty quickly...
