Passion flower dying

Help! My passion flower is wilting 😭 It was fine yesterday afternoon, then in the evening it did this. Searched on Google and it said it could be dry, or vine weevils, so I thought I'd try giving it a drink first. No difference, has stayed exactly the same. Tried searching for weevils but the roots are so dense and they spread quite far, so to be honest I can't be sure if that's what it is. It's in a flower bed with mostly shade, has been since day one. It still has a flower on it and apart from the wilting, the plant looks fine - nothing being eaten, no damage. It's in the ground, not a pot. The leaves feel soft, limp and are starting to curl under. I have a soil moisture level reader and it says that the soil is "moist" (sorry!) Any ideas?? 😔

I suspect it's a water issue. See what others think. The weather has been pretty warm lately, so you will need to water anything that is young or newly planted. The sudden wilting is normally a water issue. You may have watered enough, but sometimes, in extreme heat, the plants cannot catch up with the water in-take.

Be patient and continue to water generously. The leaf that has a bit of debris may be showing early indication of aphid attack, a sign that your plant has put on a lot of growth in a short space of time. Over-feeding can also encourage excess growth.

Same issue with my Japanese anemone and two very helpful peeps on here suggested heat and not enough water (I thought I was watering too much already!). I moved it (mine are all in pots) and watered it yesterday and this morning and just now and it's not happened today.
  • Thank you for the replies guys! I've given it another big drink, but to be honest I think it's passed the point of saving. I shall wait and see with fingers crossed! 🤞

It does look healthy but for floppy leaves, I'd fancy it's chances looking at your photos.

Let us know how it goes @elliekate
  • This is for elliekate but I’m New & don’t know how to reply! I realise this is a very old post. I have a passion flower that I bought three months ago and overnight it has wilted. I was concerned about overwatering it so for the last couple of weeks I haven’t watered it at all! I feel really stupid now as of course it should’ve had some water. I’ve given it a good watering but it looks the same. How long should I persevere for. The leaves are soft and wilting but none are falling off. Since it was planted I have had about three flowers. How often should I water it now to try and revive it? Any help gratefully received, kind regards.
