Large moth ID please.

Had this large moth flying round my garden today and just managed to catch it to take a photo of.When it was flying I had at first thought it was a Peacock butterfly.When resting it is an arrow shape.Any ideas?

    I think it is a Red Underwing moth and I have now let it back outside!

    That is a beautiful moth madpenguin. Do you know which plants it uses as a larval host?

    Google tells me that the larvae eat willow and poplar leaves.
