Garden bugs!

I really hope someone can identify which insect these black eggs are from and indeed how I can control them. I have never seen them in my garden before but they are all over a Shasta Daisy plant and it doesn't look like it will survive. I would really appreciate your help with this. Many thanks, Jackie.

They are not eggs but are blackfly - a type of aphid. Scrape them off by hand, squish them or use a jet of water to wash them off. They are also food for predators like ladybird larvae so try not to use insecticides.
