Help!! Yellow/brown, crispy, powdery laurels

Hi
Hope you can see from the pictures what i need help with 🙄 Some of the leaves are brown, crispy and have a powdery coating underneath.
I took some advice from a guy in a nursery when the same thing happened to them last year. He said it was some sort of beetle (can't remember which) that came out at night. He said to put bonemeal around the roots but i don't think it did much.
Originally I pruned the nasty looking bits and hoped that it would solve the problem.....which it did at the time.
Unfortunately it's started happening again 😫
I'd be really grateful for any advice on how I can resolve this
Thanks 😊

The powdery stuff under the leaves looks like powdery mildew to me in which case you need to make sure it is thoroughly watered as young laurels will have all their feeder roots in the top 12"/30cms of soil and be susceptible to drought.  As they mature they will send tap roots down deeper and cope better.

Give every single plant in your hedge a good soaking of at least 5 litres each and repeat daily till for a week then every 2 or 3 days till you get some decent rain.

The dry, brown bits may be another disease or a pest.

Have a read of this information here - https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/13977/Prunus-laurocerasus/Details and follow links to pests and leaf diseases to see how best to identify annd treat your problem.
