A neighbour is successfully growing a tomato in her bedroom in a first floor flat, because nobody told her not to. Great fruit and loads of it.

The best tomatoes for taste and yield for us  have been Maskotka the only drawback is the skin tends to come off when used in stir fries, other wise I will give them 9/10 with sweet million 7/10 gardeners delight and money maker 6/10.I think this year the weather has been so up and down temperature wise, all my tomatoes are grown in a cold greenhouse, but I have noticed over the last few day I have seen some self sown ones from my own compost.

I'm growing Maskotka this year as they were freebies from a magazine. Taste is ok but the skins are tough, is this because I haven't watered them enough? Will have to skin them with boiling water and cook.
East Dorset, new (to me) rather neglected garden.

If you have plenty just pop them in a bag without washing them, then freeze them then you can take what you want out run the under the tap while frozen the skin comes of easy and then chop them while they are frozen,I got that tip from one of the comments,I can't remember who it was.I agree the skins are a bit on the tough side on some of them I found that out when I cooked them in a stir fry.

Has anyone grown both sungold and sweet aperitif? If so, which is sweeter and tastier?
