I grow ‘Ace’ (previous years it’s been California Wonder) and I‘ve never grown them supported as I do tomatoes. Mine form a bush and I remove some of the early forming peppers to thin them out and give the rest of them on the plant a better chance to develop.
Regular watering is essential and I also feed them at the same time I feed the tomatoes.
They stay in the greenhouse. Good luck with your planned one🙂

Mine are in, I think, 11/12 " pots and the plants are  round about 45/50 cms high. (just been out to check😀)Bear in mind that they had the tops nipped off earlier in the year so as not to grow too big and to help the existing peppers develop better.

I grow long sweet peppers Corno di Torro Rosso.
They are thin skinned and have a really good flavour.
I've used them for Gazpacho this year but the best of all is

Made with really ripe home grown tomatoes and peppers.
I could eat it every day!

I also grow chillies - Jalapeno (I grow every year)
and this year I'm trying Hungarian Yellow Wax-

Another vote for Corno di Torro Rosso grown in the greenhouse in 12" pots and staked because they do get a bit lopsided otherwise. Don't be disheartened by @Pete.8 pictures - no-one can outgrow him!

Apparently nail polish is useful for that!

You’ve made me decide to give Corno di Torro Rosso a go next year. They look great @Pete.8 I may have to pinch the tops out though😉
