Our loft is full of old computer bits and pieces. Commodore 64 anyone? We still have an external 3.5 inch floppy drive "just in case". And at least two old laptops that "still work" that I know about. OH is a hoarder for that sort of thing. Only this afternoon he has taken apart my 10 year old laptop that died on Saturday and taken out the hard disk, memory chips, optical drive, keyboard and fan for "spares",  before we've even finished setting up the new one.
Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Soil type: sandy, well-drained

The computer I'm using now to write this is a desktop, stuff those useless laptops. After a year of continuous use the damn battery goes or the AC adapter gives up the ghost and you have to buy replacements. I've dealt with hundreds of laptops and its always the AC adapter and battery that has to be replaced, at least in a commercial environment, home use maybe not so much.

My desktop computer is 10 years old and never had an issues with it. The introduction of the SSD (solid Sate Drive) drive has made all those old computers viable to keep.
I doubled the ram and whacked in an SSD and this thing runs faster than when it was new. The layman would not know but, if you have an older computer and it can take 8Gb Ram just wack in an SSD and you will be surprised at how that old bit of kit will fly.

    Enjoy your new computer.

Our laptop is so old,  some of the letters have worn off the keys. I
I don't use it much . Replaced the battery couple of years ago but it was pretty old
Need to get a new one but can't be arsed sorting it with Norton and Microsoft
One day I'll find out if there's a notebook you can print off. Now that I'm not working, there's very little I need hard copies of but maybe one day again, I'll need  to print off travel documents

With regard to hydrangea, if you prune it in the summer, you remove next year's flowering shoots.
