Hosta wind scorch?

Given I'm in Carnoustie wind is something I can't avoid, I'm just curious if it's the likely cause of some of my hostas to be a bit tatty.

Their location is predominantly full shade until late in the day so excess sun exposure isn't an issue and I keep the pots watered regularly.

Interesting to note it's only the 3 variegated ones that get this, one in particular (being in flower taking energy away from foliage as well?). The larger 'Guacamole' on the far left is in good nick.

Smaller pot?  Also, leaves don't shade the pot like the other two that seem to suffer less.  Is the compost identical?

The 2 in the middle are in the same size of pot, all potted up in a JI2 and some grit.

Here's a photo from early June-
