Courgette plants in need of something?

Afternoon all,

Hope you're all having good growing weather.

Here in Bath it's 29degrees but raining and overcast. Quite bizarre.

Any courgette plant experts here?
We've had a pretty good crop of sizeable courgettes but the plants are starting to yellow and give up a bit now.

We've been watering every other day if the soil needed it. They've had a feed every other week with seaweed or tomarite.

It has been getting cold here at nights (greenhouse thermometer picked up a 6.9celcius night earlier this week but not sure if that explains it.

Only the second year I've grown courgettes and the first time at the allotment so I'm a little lost.

Photo attached from last weekend - they've continued to go yellow and suffer since...

They often go like this it looks very much like mildew, which as a lot to do with the type of weather we are having been very dry and now its so warm after a cold night or two this last week or so.Mine are showing signs now but not as bad as yours touch wood.

I tend to cut out the most affected leaves, it allows better air circulation and I'd imagine also stops the mildew from spreading as easily.  The worst leaves won't be doing much and it will allow the nutrients to go to the newer leaves and fruit.

I watched a a Sarah Raven video about companion planting and she grows chives with her courgettes to stop mildew if you go into her web site you will find several videos on what to do with all sorts of things,I signed up a few years ago for her news letter which I receive once a week it gives out a lot of advice.
