Avocado plant- help

I'm growing an avocado plant from for about a year now and it all went well up until a few weeks ago. From the lowest leaves up all of them are getting brown spots starting at the tip of the leaf and spreading along the edges and then towards the middle. After a few days the leaves fall off. I really have no idea what could have caused this. Can someone please help me?
