Chafer grubs and ants in lawn

Nematodes have not worked in eradicating the chafer grubs in our lawn (we've used then for four years).  Now it is infested with ants.  Our once-admired lawn is mainly dead grass, ant hills and bare soil.  Is there anything we can use other than nematodes for the chafers and what to do about the ants?  Should we dig it all up and start again?  Any advice very welcome.

A photo would help but ants indicate that it is very dry.

Ant hills, dead grass and bare soil.
All signs of a drastically dry area which grass would loathe. Chafers present  long term as well isn't a good sign for potential healthy growth.
You'd need to consider whether grass is really viable at all.
