How do I take a cutting and grow from a mature Jasmine?

Claire.RClaire.R Posts: 16
Advice needed please.

i have a mature Jasmine in the garden which has been there around 40+ years.

I would like to take a cutting and grow and replant in the ground at a later stage.

I would really appreciate advice how to do this and what is the correct process to do this?

Many thanks in advance.

    Hello @Claire.R,

If you can find a youngish branch reasonably near the base you could peg it down into the ground or a pot of compost. I've created new jasmine plants this way.

Many of the lower older stems will have nobbles on them. These are adventitious roots and if you put part of the stem with these nobbles on it in compost, it should root quite easily.
