Cup and saucer plant seed pods

GrajeanGrajean Posts: 447
I have grown these for the first time, 2 plants have covered a wire fence and lots of flowers. What do the seed pods look like? I have not deadheaded any of the flowers so far. What pollinates them. I am in NW France, a bit warmer than UK.

I've only grown the white ones. I preferred the buds to the flowers, but the seed pods look a bit like a gnarly version of those

You can see them side by side on the left in that pic

Thank you Fairygirl. I have just checked where the flower has fallen off - nothing happening! Should I deadhead most of them or wait in hope of some seed heads. Not seen any bees near them so how will they pollinate? Sorry for so many questions, first time growing these.

I found them a faff to get germinated, but probably because I don't have the perfect conditions for that. I only grew them once, as none of the seed germinated the following year.
I can't remember much about how they grew, other than the fact that they were quite rampant, but I always had a lot of bees around them. They were growing up the apple trees I had at the time. I don't think I ever deadheaded them either. I wouldn't have had the time then - or the inclination  ;)

The seed heads will take a wee while to form though, so if you're hoping to collect seeds, it would be as well to wait.
