Yellowing leaves on Cordylline

Cordylline planted 3 months ago into container with compost including John Innes, bottom leaves dramatically turning yellow. Please help, beautiful 5 foot tall plant.

    Agree with @philippasmith2, but also - have you kept it well watered?
    A plant that size needs well watered until established, and especially if in a pot.
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Thank you for both your replies, probably is still settling in but I have no worries about watering as it has not stopped raining here (Lancashire) for the past month.

    Don't make the mistake that many people make re rainwater. A plant of any kind which has a lot of top growth can shed rainwater off, and it then doesn't go in the pot where it's needed.  The foliage just acts like an umbrella, so keep an eye on it. 
    I still have to regularly water my sweet peas that are in pots, and a Ligularia. Despite flooding round here the other day as the rain was so heavy, those pots were still not fully dampened because the foliage sends it out beyond the pots. We haven't had a fully dry 24 hours here for weeks  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
