Plum problems

Hi. I have a dual plum tree Czar and Victoria. I bought it  6 years  ago from a reputable fruit tree supplier. It has grown really well and in spring it is covered in blossom. They then develop into plums which cover the whole tree but gradually they all turn yellow and drop off ! We are lucky to get two or three develop on the whole tree. This is very frustrating, especially as a neighbour just down the street has a tree which is covered with plums every year. Has anyone got any ideas where I am going wrong? Colin

Possibly pocket plum as has been suggested.   Another thought is lack of water ... it takes a lot of water to produce juicy fruit ...... does the tree get watered other than by rain?  I give my espaliered pear tree a weekly 30 minute soaking when it's got swelling fruit, by leaving the hose on a 'steady trickle' at the base of the tree ... did it this morning actually, after watering the toms.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
