I suspect dog but have been told cat or toad online (I'm guessing by dog owners). Any more votes?

Think someone’s winding you up ...

that’s from a dog or cat

To be fair @Dovefromabove, I'm a little bit wound up already! There's always somebody ready to defend the indefensible online isn't there?  :(

Too true @Biglad ... and always someone online talking out of where that stuff on your lawn came from 😖

Another vote for dog. As a long-standing cat owner (or should that be cat's servant? :) ) I am very familiar with what comes out of cats' bums.

Seems like my use of social media to have a pop at the local dog owning population may have been justified. I've lived here 20 years and can't remember ever finding any poop on the (bigger) lawn in the enclosed back garden. Yet the (smaller) front lawn, which is open to the masses has frequent deposits.

Several cats have wandered around my property for the duration but I think they prefer to use the vegetable patches as toilets.

    To put it bluntly :-

area with no access for dogs = no sh!t
area with access for dogs = loadsa sh!t

The case for the prosecution rests.

There will be fun and games if I ever catch the culprit!

Once when I lived elsewhere and suffered from similar attentions from walkers’ dogs my then OH put a notice up with words saying something like

‘Beware ☠️ This grass is regularly treated with fertiliser which may burn the skin. Please protect your dog’s feet.’

Seemed to work ... even after the notice had gone ... dogs seem to be creatures of habit.

It might be worthwhile trying something similar.

Love that! Although anyone looking at my front 'lawn' may justifiably doubt the authenticity of such a statement! Definitely worth a try though.
