Can someone identify this please

So at the start of lockdown I planted seeds from an apple, an orange and a lemon. Unfortunately the rain washed the labels away.   I was wondering if anyone knew what this is as I'm mildly concerned I might be nurturing a weed  and don't want to put it into the ground until I'm sure what it is lol

    It’s Redshank ... a weed found commonly in newly disturbed ground and arable fields. It’s in the Persicaria family and related to buckwheat.

    Oh thats just brilliant lol could it have come from the compost I used? As I literally only put compost and the seed in the pot and i have no other idea of where it could have come from 🤦🏻‍♀️

    Most compost we buy has been sterilised so it’s unlikely ... but these things happen ... seeds blow about, get dropped by birds etc. 
    It has quite a pretty flower and there are some gorgeous ornamental forms.

    Thats quite pretty, I might leave it in the pot and see what becomes of it lol

    There’s many plants which, if they were harder to grow, would be prized by gardeners who would pay good money for them. Unfortunately some of them are far too eager to grow and make themselves too much at home. Silly plants 😉
