Can anyone help these bugs are eating my friends shrubs

    They are unlikely to be eating your friend's shrubs little bee but they may be eating whichever bug is doing the damage. They are Kidney Spot ladybird larvae

    Difficult to tell without a close up but could be aphids (which would explain the ladybird larvae) or scale insects.  Not good on ornamentals but that shrub looks like it could do with a good soak, drought weakens plants and then any bug damage seems much worse.

    Perhaps your friend could leave the hose on a slow trickle at the base for a few hours?
