Amelanchier lamarkii leaf browning?

Planted three years ago and doing well up until a few weeks ago when this discolouring of the leaves started and has now spread to pretty much all of the tree. I'm inclined to think that it's just reacting to the very hot weather we've had, but wonder if anybody else has any alternative ideas.

Thanks in advance

Mine did exactly the same last year and it has happened again this year despite extra watering but probably not often enough
It blossomed well earlier and the new leaves looked fine but now it looks like it thinks its early autumn.
All I can suggest is more water, 10l on a daily basis in very hot weather and 2 to 3 times a week when cooler, you can't reverse the change the leaves.
  • Thanks for that. Pretty much what I thought myself. I’m going to include a weekly feeding too I think.

I wouldn't be feeding trees now, we are reaching the end of the growing season.
Established trees should not really need feeding at all.
How can you lie there and think of England
When you don't even know who's in the team

We give our amelanchier (planted 4 years ago) some fish, blood & bone in the spring along with the othe gab rubs, fruit trees etc in the garden. Otherwise it’s not fed ... but it is watered once a week in the summer. every other day in hot dry spells. We have very free-draining sandy loam over chalk and it dries out very quickly.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
