Moving a Jasmin plant

I have got a jasmin that is getting out of control.  I do not know which type it is but has clusters of white flowers and in full bloom now.  It is totally taking over and crowding out my other climbers.  The more I cut it back the faster it grows so I want to dig it up and my sister will take it
I'm just not sure when to do it.  I am going to have to cut most of it away as it is huge at the moment.  Would this Autumn be the right time or should i do it now? Also are the roots going to be quite big?
It is about 7 ft high although I have tried to keep it a bit shorter but have now just given up and it is about 3 ft wide
It is really beautiful but I have to keep cutting it to stop it crowding my other plants.  I do not know how many times this year I have had to chop it back already
I do hope it will survive being dug up
