Courgette pollination

in Fruit & veg
Hi everyone,
This is my first year of growing courgettes and I have a question on pollination. From what I understand pollinators will take the pollen from the male flower to the female then the fruit will grow (or you can hand pollinate).
My female flowers opened first a week ago and look like they are starting to develop fruit. My male flower only opened and yesterday. Does this mean whatever is growing is edible?
