Tree identification

We moved house last year and this tree is in the garden. I’m trying to identify it as we have a puppy and want to ensure it isn’t toxic, but I’m really struggling! It’s about 1.5 metres tall and has blossom in early spring before the leaves. It’s had a couple of very small purple berries which have dark purple liquid when squashed. Hope someone can help
