what plant and what’s the fluffy stuff on it?

Can you please help me with this plant?
We moved here recently and i am not sure if it’s a weed or not? It’s full off fluffy white stuff... It’s getting quite tall too. thanks

    It's willowherb and those are the seeds.
    Get rid of as much as you can - each plant can produce 100,000 seeds   :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    ahh thanks Fairygirl, i already don’t like the mother plant - so not keen on even more new additions. Probably not a good idea to throw it on the compost?

    No - it's highly invasive, although good for certain caterpillars. It's fine if you have a huge acreage to play with, but a real menace in a domestic garden.

    On the plus side, they're easy to pull out, but try and contain the seeds as well as you can. You'll find it everywhere, as those seeds will already be getting going somewhere. You'll become adept at spotting the new plants  ;)
