@Blue Onion I don't currently Y-split anywhere in the system so thanks for the suggestion.  I can deffo work it into the design. I think my neighbour has similar so will do a socially aware field trip to finalise design.  Thanks so much.

@Obelixx mine are female at the end or handset at the final so I can see how this will work for me thankyou.

Off to find quite long hose.

Well my stuff arrived and I've set up a timed irrigation system that goes around the outside of the garden (no packing away hoses to mow) and feeds either the pond from rain catchers or the veg patch from the mains (manual intervention reqd to select the source - that's not automatic). I've set up a grid of soaker hoses that next year I'll be using to space my veg sowing rows. I'm really pleased with progress. However, talk about mission creep, I'm now looking at upgrading my raised bed! It's one big one that's 3.3 x 3.8 m. I made it using the old soffitts off the house when we had plastic ones put on and it's now rotting so I thought I might build something just outside it and lift the existing boundaries then fill in with topsoil. Anyone attempted a similar feat and have any good gen on good solutions? There's a kit available online but it's a grand for this size of bed.

Here's some pics of existing with new soaker hose but doing this has made me realise how rotten the retaining wood is.
