A couple of questions (grass & September Charm)

Hi!
I was wondering if I can cut my potted grass that has grown massively this year (pic attached) and, if so, when?
Also, I have grown September Charm this year for the first time. It's come on greatly from the nine inch plant I bought. It has really limp leaves every now and then. Just the odd one or two. Is this because I'm overwatering it or is it just because of its current growth spurt? And do I chop it all down when it's finished flowering in Autumn or do I just leave it to die back?
