What's eating my plants

Is this slug/snail or caterpillar damage on my argyranthemum. Other plants have been ravaged as well, including the unopened buds on my pelagoniums.

    The stem damage looks typical of molluscs but the petal damage looks very much like that caused by earwigs.
    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

    I agree Bob ,those pesky earwigs on the petals are a dratted nuisance (to put it politely).

    @AnniD @BobTheGardener....cheers for that...I never thought of earwigs. Small upturned plant pots on canes I believe will catch the blighters.

    You need to fill them with straw.

    @Obelixx...I've no straw, but I've put out pots filled with shredded paper. Hopefully that'll do the trick.
