Rhododendron - leaves eaten

hello, I bought a rhododendron, my first ever, at the beginning of the year. it is in ericaceous soil in a large deep pot. something is eating the leaves. can anyone advise. I am uploading a picture. Can anyone help please.

    It looks very similar to vine weevil damage.

    They do get vine weevil damage, and that what that is.
    Unfortunately, in pots, they're more susceptible to everything, especially if the pot isn't big enough and they become stressed.
    Containers need to be huge to give the roots room to spread, as they're shallow rooted shrubs. Good soil, not just compost, is also required, and rainwater if your domestic supply is unsuitable.  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
