Does anyone know what these tiny grey\blue eggs are ?

Does anyone know what these tiny grey\blue eggs are ? I say eggs as if I lok really close I can see some have hatched and are crawling round. The "mass" has got bigger as the week has gone on, now covering the flowers at the very top, probably slowly killing the plant. Thanks

Yep ... not eggs, aphids ... turn a jet if water from the hosepipe on them and squirt them off

  • OK, thanks, I'm not gardener so didn't have a clue. They have multiplied loads over last week or so. Do they do any damage ? What are they ?

Theyre sucking the sap out of your plants so yes, get rid of the little beggars ... but no need for noxious chemicals if you’re worried about that. I brush them off with my fingers (I’m not squeamish) or a jet of water as described above.

Ladybirds, hoverflies, lacewings, wasps and bluetits etc will eat them for you as well, but this year has been a bad year for them so we’re seeing more than usual.
