Etoile violette

SuesynSuesyn Posts: 664
I thought this clematis was Dark Eyes but now it has flowered it obviously isn't. I planted it at the same time as Etoile Violette but it doesn't quite look right as that either. The one I thought was E V flowered a little while ago and as it is still quite young hasn't flowered again but it certainly didn't look obviously wrong. Have any of you more knowledgeable people out there any ideas?
The colour is actually darker than it has come out in the picture but I still think it might clash with Teasing Georgia

Not Etoile Violette - http://clematisontheweb.org/new-clemdetail.cfm?dbkey=26 but I would think it would look great with Teasing Georgia.   Both will be hungry plants so keep them well fed with generous dollops of slow release fertiliser in spring and an occasional tonic of liquid tomato feed between then and mid July.
