Clemitas & Passion Flower

recently bought a clemitas and 2 passion flowers.
Were so healthy.
After about 3/4 weeks their leaves started to droop?, thought maybe because id left them in the pots?.
So maybe a a week after i planted them in the soil which I'd dug over ready for planting.
Now there is nothing apart from their stalks?.
I have cut them back to where i can see there may be some life in them?.
Why did this happen?. Never lost a plant before?

    Hi @lomaxandrea39o_AzGp_j
and welcome to the forum 😊

Can you post some photos of your plants ... we may get some clues.

Click on the ‘landscape’ icon and follow the instructions ... if pics don’t upload reducing the size usually works.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

That's an unhappy passiflora in the wrong position unfortunately. It looks wind and cold damaged to me. I can't tell the compass position of it but they like sheltered spots in the sun, well watered but not soaked.

If I had to guess, the metal rail is conducting warmth away from the plant and making it cold in the cold nights we've had. It's also not got protection from wind as it's between the rails of your steps. Both of those are killing it off unfortunately.

It should be saveable as the main stem looks green. Cut off the dead parts. Assuming that brick wall is in the sun, try putting a trellis on it and training the plant up it. It'll thank you for a warm spot, an easy to climb trellis, and radiated warmth from the brick overnight.
