Identification please!

Please help me identify this young tree. I think it's some sort of cherry, am I right?



And then the dark-leaved shrub beneath it, any ideas? Here's a closer look:

    The tree is certainly Prunus species and the bark looks right for a cherry, probably a decorative one (ie a flowering cherry.)  BTW, Hostafan made a typo - it's pittosporum. :)

    A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
