HELP - Question About Surfinia

I’ve been getting a really good show from White Surfinia in my hanging baskets, which I planted third week in May, but they are starting to look a little bit straggly now and I’m deadheading them like mad every day to keep them looking good.

QUESTION - if I took a huge leap of faith and cut them back by around 1/2 to 2/3’s now at this stage of the summer would they regrow again and re flower into the latter part of September ???

They look lovely to me.  I don't think you need to deadhead surfina as they are classed as self-cleaning.  They are meant to trail over the side of the baskets/containers.  Sorry but don't know what would happen if you chopped them right back.

So I have quite a lot of surfinias every year and have managed to even get them perennial every so often, I have 1 pot from last year still blooming! Basically prune back by a 1/3 if they are getting scraggly! Petunias if you dont prune back will just concentrate on seeding and not bother with the  flowering and start to thin out! Hope this helps 😊
