They probably need evidence and postage records for Amazon, so they have proper tracking.. so they send something of similar weight.  Could send dirt or rocks.. not sure why seeds?  Maybe because seeds are still a 'gift'.. where are dirt or rocks might be more obvious.  They package is tracked across the ocean and then 'received'.. then they can write their reviews in English.  Is any where aside from England and the UK getting them?

    I dunno.. just a theory.

It seems like many thousands of packets are being sent out.

Yes.. but why?  😁. What is your theory?  Why spend all that money to send a multitude of random seeds to people?  There has got to be money in it somewhere for someone.

Reviews for what? They are sent anonymously.

The seller writes their own reviews as they set up a bunch of accounts using data saved from genuine purchases. You buy from eBay, they set up an account in your name on Amazon for example. The key is the items have to be sent to real addresses to get the 'verified purchase' tags on the reviews. It's just an elaborate way to play the review systems on the various websites. The more 5* reviews you have the better promotion you get as a seller and the more sales you get. Fake reviews were getting so common that most market places put checks in place to stop them so this is the new way to make fake reviews.
If you can keep your head, while those around you are losing theirs, you may not have grasped the seriousness of the situation.
  • This whole enterprise is probably about brushing which is about fake reviews  @Firehttps://fortune.com/2020/07/30/what-is-brushing-scam-china-mystery-seeds/

There has been a push on Ebay and Amazon to ban sellers of fake plants - black roses etc.  Maybe the sellers are pushing back. It seems a very expensive way of going about things - sending thousands of packets to Europe and the US from China.

I suppose a spice grinder would do if you can't burn them. What do you think?
