Hazel, willow, reed - what screening is best?
Hi
I have a 1 meter length of waist-height stone wall which the neighbors can see into my garden (Im sure they have better things to do with their time than look at me gardening, but nonetheless). So Id like a cheap and easy to install privacy screen.
My thoughts are something like a hazel hurdle, or a willow fence screen. Theres lots of options out there.
What would you say the cheapest option is, that doesnt rot away within a year?
Thanks

Better to put something half decent in the space. A proper hazel hurdle would be much better, or some good quality trellis. You can plant a climber on it too.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
You might be able to screw narrow posts to the wall to keep them off the ground and fix the trellis so it sits on top of the wall. The expanding stuff is quite cheap and lasts a few years at least.
Alternatively I have used old bamboo window blinds I've sourced for free from Freecycle as a temporary measure - they last quite a while.
Got the rough side showing.
Can be painted on.
Should last good few years
